Little Butte Creek Park
Eagle Point, OregonThe City of Eagle Point hired Covey Pardee to lead a public involvement and design process for the master plan of this waterfront linear park on the banks of Little Butte Creek. The creek, an important salmon spawning pathway, has been the target of recent conservation and reclamation efforts by several public agencies. Engaging stakeholders throughout the design process, Covey Pardee developed a plan to improve public access for vehicles and pedestrians, add vantage points and trails for environmental education, and restore native riparian vegetation. The new pedestrian bridge, picnic area, and children's playground were designed to embrace the natural flood cycles of the creek with a series of stepped terraces and retaining walls.
