Downtown Master Plan
Mt Shasta, CaliforniaIn 2004, Covey Pardee Landscape Architects was retained to work with the small mountain community of Mt Shasta to prepare a downtown master plan. Citizen concerns included a lack of pedestrian connection, beautification, and rows of sweetgum trees planted twenty years earlier which are uplifting sidewalks. Work began with community outreach meetings, and included an illustrative master plan which the city has used to guide improvements to the downtown core. Additional work, not a part of the original scope, included design drawing for the 'City Plaza' and preparation of exhibits intended to illustrate basic site planning criteria for future commercial development.
