The conceptual design process convinced the owners of this property that a comfortable and attractive landscape was possible. The couple had been quite concerned that it had been a mistake to buy a barren, west-facing hillside in central California to build their home. However, reviewing the conceptual designs assured them that their vision was attainable. After selecting a preferred alternative, complete construction documents were prepared for the project that included a swimming pool with waterfall and diving rock, dining patio, outdoor kitchen, hot-tub, and sunning deck. Careful arrangement of retaining walls, structures and plantings created a landscape that is private, inviting, and well integrated with their home.
